6,500 eggs smuggled from a PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous area were apprehended by inspectors in the Nachal I’ron (Wadi Ara) area on Tuesday, 18 Cheshvan 5774.

Ministry of Agriculture inspectors apprehended the egg shipment in the vehicle of a motorist from an area Israeli Arab community. The eggs did not have a stamp to indicate they are approved, they were being transported in a non refrigerated vehicle and the driver lacked any of the required permits to verify the integrity of the eggs.

The eggs were confiscated and will be destroyed, the vehicle impounded and the driver taken into custody.
