Since the report earlier this month that Ukraine will not allow Breslover chassidim into the country for Rosh Hashanah, there have been varying reports that the decision may be reversed.

In response to those reports, including one that indicated that entry to Ukraine will be possible via Moldova, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk announced on Monday that an official entry ban to Ukraine will be issued prior to Rosh Hashanah.

“Today, there is really no official ban on entering Ukraine,” Korniychuk stated. “However the Ukrainian President’s Office clarified that relevant restrictions on entering the country will be adopted and approved before the fall holiday (Rosh Hashanah).”

“The state of Ukraine is responsible for the health and lives of all who enter it. Therefore chassidim will not be able to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in Uman or any other city. Ukraine is warning in advance regarding the entry ban.”

  1. Basically saying if you wanna be in Uman on Rosh Hashana better come now. Good luck to whoever tries that.

  2. With all the issues they are dealing with and hundreds of their citizens dying every week from Russian attacks, the LAST thing the Ukrainian government needs to worry about are these crazy Breslov still starting rumors that they can somehow gain entry into the country on Rosh Hashanah. They have been warned over and over not to come so any who are caught violating the ban on entry should be thrown in jail. If they want to do something positive use the money they otherwise would have spent flying to Uman to help the tens of thousands of yidden still suffering in the Ukraine.

  3. Does that mean that thousands will have to spend Rosh Hashana with their wives and children, some for the first time?

  4. sad that Brezlov visits this decaying filthy state….murderers of jews, silent about rectification and even Zelensky is not a jew….my hubby said these people are the worst of all gentiles…..
