Rocket alert sirens sounded in Eilat early Thursday afternoon, the first rocket alert siren in the city in six weeks.

Following the incident, the IDF spokesperson said: “Following the alert in the area of the city of Eilat, an interceptor missile was launched at a suspicious aerial target that was on its way to Israeli territory. A rocket and missile fire warning was activated in the Eilat city area following the launch of the interceptor. The incident has ended and there is no fear of a security incident.”

The MDA spokesperson said that there were no reports of injuries or damage.
