Kadima leadership candidate Shaul Mofaz, a former IDF chief of staff and defense minister, has enlisted many of his former colleagues who are coming out openly to support him in the primary race. A number of reserve duty major-generals announced they stand behind Mofaz, including Yanush Ben-Gal and Yair Naveh. A letter was signed by 15 senor military commanders, expressing their support for Mofaz�s candidacy in the party�s leadership race.

One of Mofaz�s opponents in the leadership race, former ISA (Israel Security Agency � Shin Bet) director Avi Dichter, has also turned to former colleagues for support, producing a letter signed by 15 former senior Shin Bet officials.

In the meantime, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, a former Mossad agent, leads according to the polls.
