A band of thieves disguised as IDF soldiers carried out an armed robbery of a jewelry store in the town of Dahariya, near Chevron, on Tuesday, stealing gold and jewelry worth tens of thousands of shekels.
Following the report, the IDF spokesperson stated that “security forces were dispatched a short time ago to the Dahariya area in the Yehuda Brigade following a report received about armed suspects posing as IDF soldiers and robbing stores in the area.”
Shortly later, the police issued a statement saying three suspects, Bedouin-Israelis from the south, were arrested by police and Border Police officers from the Yehuda and Shomron District, who operated alongside IDF forces to locate the suspects. The officers found IDF uniforms, three M16 rifles, a handgun, and military helmets in the suspects’ car.
The police believe that the suspects arrived in Dahiriya in a vehicle that appeared to be a security vehicle, including emergency lights, while dressed in IDF uniforms, wearing bulletproof vests and helmets, and carrying weapons. At some point, the suspects broke into a Palestinian-owned jewelry store and robbed its contents. Immediately afterward, they began fleeing south. Following the launch of a manhunt by Israeli security forces, the suspects were located and arrested near the village of Samu.

The Regavim movement responded to the report by stating, “This is not robbery. This is Bedouistan, October 7th edition. This incident, to which the security forces responded quickly and decisively, could easily become a murder tomorrow, and from there—Bedouin pickup trucks with men disguised as IDF soldiers racing toward Be’er Sheva or Jerusalem.”
“The danger here is immediate and real; this is an operational plan for what comes next. The drone terror that imports weapons in large quantities into Israel under the protection of Bedouin gangs from the Negev is not a theoretical threat; it is preparation for a massacre. There is no difference between weapons for crime and weapons for terror.”
“The criminal neglect, the lack of governance, and the partial enforcement have brought us to a state of war in every sense within the borders of the State of Israel. Since 2019, we have repeatedly demanded that the Shin Bet and the IDF be brought in, along with the enactment of emergency regulations to combat the threat of weapons and protection rackets. The one who has prevented this until now is the Attorney-General’s office. Do you now understand the need? We have no room for error here.”
