The shul targeted in the Monday morning Haifa arson attack was N’vei Tzion, located on Tichon Street in the N’vei Sha’anan neighborhood.

Mispalalim arrived at about 6:00am for davening and noticed the blaze, acting expeditiously and succeeding in extinguishing the blaze before it spread too far. Baruch Hashem they put out the fire before there was a need for the fire department although there was significant damage to furniture as was reported earlier.

Haifa chareidi City Councilman Rabbi Aryeh Blitental called on the city’s mayor and police to take a more aggressive approach to the arson attacks against shuls, stating the current situation is intolerable and those responsible must be apprehended.
