Clinton: Construction Freeze Not Required Ahead of Talks

dos.jpgVisiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that an Israeli halt to construction is not a precondition to the resumption of talks with the PA (Palestinian Authority) as PA Chairman Abu Mazen is demanding.

During a joint press conference with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the secretary explained the matter of “settlement construction” has always been an issued to be addressed in talks, explaining the issue however is not a precondition for the resumption of talks. The secretary expressed her commitment to restarting the diplomatic process between Israel and the PA as well as the commitment and determination of the White House.

Nothing has changed in Ramallah, with senior aide to Abbas, Nabil Abu Radeina explaining the construction must come to a total halt before talks resume. He explained the PA’s position has not changed, and the settlements are “illegitimate” and there is no room for seeking to change this reality.

  1. Oh how gracious of Her Majesty Hillary Rotten Clinton. Maybe there can also be a status quo placed upon both parties like holding the Palestinians responsible for maintaining peace by ceasing and desisting all terror attacks!
