Iran Has Enough Uranium For An Atom Bomb

iran1.jpgAccording to Israel’s chief of military intelligence, Major-General Amos Yadlin, who on Tuesday morning addressed the Conference on Security Challenges in the 21st Century at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, Iran has an adequate supply of enriched uranium to manufacture an atom bomb.

The senior official added that for all those who believe Iran intends to use the nuclear energy for non-military purposes should view the discovery of the Qom facility as a “warning sign,” adding Iran is moving ahead in the nuclear program at a brisk pace, waiting for the right time to act as defined by Tehran’s timetable.

Yadlin stated with certainty that Iran already has 1.7 tons of low-grade enriched uranium at the Natanz nuclear facility, which his adequate for an atom bomb.

The intelligence chief further dispelled the Iranian claim that the nuclear energy is for civilian use by pointing out Tehran is continuing development of long-range ballistic missiles with nuclear detonators, signaling Israeli intelligence reports of military use of the uranium are indeed correct.

Referring to Hizbullah, Yadlin stated that any weapons held by Syria and Iran can make their way to the terrorist army for use against Israel.

On the Syrian front, he stated that there is indeed a chance to achieve peace with Syria, adding such a reality would serve Israeli interests vis-à-vis Iran too since it would add to Tehran’s isolation. Yadlin feels that Syria is not a “natural partner” in the Axis of Evil, referring to Iran and Hizbullah.
