ib.jpgThe daily HaMevaser reports once again that there is a “hisorrirus” among the tzibur in response to the increasingly vocal calls from Gedolei Yisrael Shlita regarding the dangers of the Internet and one’s association with the internet in any way.

In the front page article, the newspaper quotes Rabbanim Shlita of placing internet sites in the category of sinners to entice others to sin.

  1. The Kollel Shomrei Hachomos Reb Meir Baal Haness will held Annual Ladies Party & Chinese Auction in a few days. The order form for raffle tickets may be faxed or e-mailed. Also it can be placed online. Should we send them link to this article instead of order?

Today a lot of Jewish organizations raise funds using Internet. If we will ignore their requests for this reason, will be interesting to see how many avrechim will continue to learn without financial support.

  2. The internet is a tool. Like any tool it can be used for either good or evil. Those who wish to do the latter will do so anyway. Consequently a ban of the internet is vrtually useless.

  3. This is truly absurd there are so many frum web sites that are out on the internet. I truly think that the rabbunun need to be shown just how much torah is out online. I know for a fact that if the internet was banned that kiruv would suffer. Important organizations who desperately need funds to continue would go bankrupt. Its even probable to say that a good portion of the gedolie yesroel, parnassa is collected from online funding. This ban will never happen, they need to refocus their efforts on torah learning this effort to ban the internet is truly bittul zman of torah.
