Hamas Blames Israel for Border Shootout

Hamas officials in Gaza have released statements explaining the exchanges of gunfire across the Rafiach border are the result of the hunger in Gaza, blaming Israel for the ongoing embargo.

It appears today’s violence, which has already left one Egyptian security officer dead and over 35 Gazans injured, with at least “5 reported as brain dead” is a response to Egypt’s “iron wall”, an underground barrier intended to cut of the growing sophisticated Hamas smuggling tunnels, which have become the lifeline and golden goose for many terrorists and entrepreneurs in Gaza.

Egyptian officials have decided to clamp down on the smuggling tunnels, prompting the skirmish at the border, which has escalated during the afternoon hours.
