Authorities Locate Rocket Fired from Jordan

Despite statements released from Jordanian officials last week that reports of a rocket attack in the Eilat area are untrue, the 120mm Grad Katyusha rocket was found in the Bay of Eilat, confirming the accuracy of last week’s reports. The rocket was found in the Red Sea by two divers.

YWN-Israel reported on Thursday that a number of rockets were fired into the Eilat area, presumably from Jordan, leading to Jordanian denials later in the day, explaining the explosions as a local incident in a cooling plant along the border, nothing more.

Security officials in Israel report the type of rocket recovered is used by both Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, not ruling out an attempted rocket attack into the Eilat area by a terror organization.
