IDF Planning to Stop Marine Intifada Flotilla

Foreign Ministry officials earlier this week met with diplomatic representatives of a number of countries as the self-proclaimed humanitarian flotilla of vessels from a number of nations plan to head to the area, determined on breaking the Israeli naval blockade on Gaza. Officials met with representatives of Greece, Ireland, Sweden and Turkey, informing them that the navy will prevent the vessels carrying hundreds of so-called peace activists along with aide supplies and construction equipment from reaching the Gaza shore.

While such efforts have been undertaken in the past, this is by far the largest, including a reported 20 vessels carrying media personnel along with parliamentarians and political officials from a number of countries.
