BANGLADESH QUAKE KILLS 8: A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck central Bangladesh on Friday, killing at least eight people and injuring more than 300, officials said. The quake hit near Narsingdi district, about 25 miles from Dhaka, and was strong enough to sway buildings in the capital.

Authorities said many of the injuries occurred as people rushed out of homes and workplaces in panic.
