🚨 BREAKING: 6 people were taken into custody after suspicious devices were thrown during a protest near Gracie Mansion on Shabbos.

Police say tensions escalated when two opposing demonstrations — one anti-Muslim protest with about 20 participants and a counter-protest of roughly 125 people — confronted each other.

•⁠ ⁠Two counter-protesters (ages 18 & 19) allegedly lit and threw devices
•⁠ ⁠Another suspect arrested for deploying pepper spray
•⁠ ⁠Additional arrests for disorderly conduct and blocking traffic

The NYPD Bomb Squad is examining the devices, which appeared to be jars filled with nuts, bolts, screws and a fuse.
