Beef Lo Mein

This is an easy weeknight family dinner or fun for a Chinese-themed Shabbos meal, Yom Tov meal or Sheva Brachos.

½ cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon minced ginger

1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes

2 pounds stew beef, cut into strips

Peanut oil for frying

2 (15 ounce) cans stir fry vegetables, drained

1 (16 ounce) package Chinese egg noodles, cooked and drained (can substitute spaghetti if you can’t find these)

1 (28 ounce) jar sesame teriyaki sauce

In a Ziploc bag or plastic container combine soy sauce, garlic, ginger, red chili pepper flakes and meat.  Marinate for a few hours or overnight.  Heat oil in large frying pan or wok.  Pour in meat mixture (not drained) and sauté until meat is no longer pink.  Add vegetables and sauté a minute or two longer.  Stir in sauce and noodles and simmer for 5 minutes before serving.
