Alaska – Douglas synagogue vandalized

Police are investigating a vandalism spree in Douglas and Juneau. Vandals spray-painted swastikas and gang-related graffiti sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. In Douglas, vandals marked the front door of a synagogue, a retaining wall, fences and a Head Start school bus. At Cope Park, trash cans, a portable toilet and the parking area were marked.

Police say because the graffiti was so widespread, they don’t believe the synagogue was specifically targeted.
