The U.N. Security Council on Friday accepted Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s request to defend his country’s nuclear program when the 15-nation body votes on arms and financial sanctions against Tehran.

The Iranian leader wants to address the council before members raise their hands on the resolution but no date has been set for a vote, said South African U.N. Ambassador Dumisani Kumalo, this month’s council president.

“We transmitted the letter containing the request from the (Iranian) ambassador that his president wants to lead the delegation,” Kumalo said. “We haven’t received one objection.” Since we told all 15 this will happen I am assuming this will happen.”

The United States has to issue a visa for Ahmadinejad. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack could not say whether a visa would be issued but noted that Washington had “in the past issued visas for him as well as his traveling party when they have gone to the U.N.”

  1. #1- i chould understand why the U.N. whants this crazy man bec. the un realy means united natzi !!!!! but why should the u.s. want him here ? # 2- what is ahmadenagad thinking?

  2. I understand N.K. already has an appointment. This is indeed good news. After a boring week, YW readers will have a lot to gripe about.

  3. The US generally has an obligation to allow any foreign diplomats/leaders come to the UN. That is part of hosting the UN in the US.

It has been quiet lately. At least will have what to yenta about know if certain yidden meet this meshugana.

  4. To the editor: maybe we should have a “wall of shame” photo album designated and deticated to the neteurei karta?

  5. UHHHH I’m about to throw up, why do these NK’S love ACHMEDINEJAD so much,

On PESACH night by the seder, we’ll all say SH’BECHOL DOR V’DOR
OMDIM ALEINU LECHALOSEINU, don’t they realize that achmedinejad is the one in this generation that wants to kill us all – weather NK or not.

Maybe the NK’S don’t say that part of the HAGADAH.
I hope they move to IRAN already.

  6. I think it’s about time that all the GEDOLIM come out united against this group called NK.

What is a average American supposed to think, after seeing people dressed like jews welcoming ISRAEL’S biggest enemy.

  7. lakewood masmid: i think ahmadenagad ym”s know’s that fridman(n”k) got a beating by zaka (he mestama read it in y”w ) so he want’s 2 be mevaker chola !!!!!

  8. Let’s lobby to move the UN to a different venue, and sell the property as condos!!!! Where is Mayor Giuliani who chased Arafat out of New York’s Lincoln Center?

  9. I wonder who wrote the welcome sign for them non of those dudes know how to speak let alone write, and hey now we have a good picture of them if u see them make sure you let them know that we know who they are!!

  10. To Joseph
The Gedolim sit and learn all day I look up to them very much. They don’t sit like us & look at the news to find out what’s happening, It’s the gaboim around them that should tell them, what these NK’S are doing.

Don’t forget these NK’S are doing all this alone – without daas torah.

  11. sheryl, I assure you the gedolim are not as oblivious to world and local events as you may think. Whatever they do and whatever they don’t do has a reason and calculation.

  12. To Ratrock:

As a matter of fact, NK USA fellow traveler Chaim Fryman is a perfectly literate graduate of Yeshiva University!!!

  13. Dear YW editor, can you replace the picture for this story? I would rather see an arab arab, than a jewish one. It is shaming all good erliche yidden by showing a chssideshe face holding that disgusting sign. Enough of these “doufasbrains” already. Thank you.
