The state has turned to the High Court of Justice once again regarding Amona, seeking a 45-day extension for the final evacuation date, which is currently Sunday, 25 Kislev, the first day of Chanukah. The request is premised on the agreement accepted by the residents of the community, by which they will be relocated elsewhere on the same hilltop, to undisputed land.
In line with the agreement, work is to begin immediately on Plot 38, which will accommodate about 24 of the 40 families currently living in the community. The state explains in the petition the need to resolve the ownership of the unclaimed land, Plot 38, citing it is an impossibility to accomplish this by the current deadline. The court is scheduled to rule on the state’s request on Thursday, 22 Kislev.
