Report: Sikrikim Attack Females In Yerushalayim

The females dressed modestly were assaulted by Sikrikim on Beis Yisrael Street in Yerushalayim. According to the Kikar Shabbat report, the females were dressed and acting appropriately, and the attack was without provocation and without justification.

This latest incident attributed to community thugs known as sikrikim occurred on motzei Shabbos Parshas Vayeira, the eve of 16 Cheshvan. The girls were verbally assaulted and spat upon.

Family members of the girls and others decided to return fire, beating the attackers, who were found at the scene upon their return. It did not take too long for hundreds to gather, and a brawl ensued. A number of askanim managed to calm the situation. A number of persons escorted the girls safely out of the area.

One eyewitness was neighborhood resident David Refaeli, who is quoted by Kikar Shabbos as saying “the three girls simply passed through the area, in modest attire, not bothering anyone. Suddenly a number of youths who call themselves chareidi arrived on the scene, and they began spitting at the girls and calling them ‘shiktza’.

  1. When we were growing up, such were referred to as “laidigayers”, those who go empty. Perhaps we send Rabbi Yakov Horowitz of project Y.E.S. to Eretz Yisroel to help deal with these youths.

  2. And these “sick”rikim have the chutzpah to flood the streets in Brooklyn against Ger.

I wish some more of them would get the same treatment.

  3. These youths have no business looking at young ladies and someone should be teaching them THAT in the first place. THEY deserved to be taught a lesson from the VAAD Hatznius about Shmiras Eynayim!

  4. When we think it is okay to attack women who ARE being provocative, then we are empowering lawlessness and eventually you get this situation – where these thugs attack women who are NOT being provocative, but simply for existing. It is the fault of all charedim who allowed it in “some” circumstances.

  5. These bums are the same ones that are stealing, shaking down store owners in the area, and taking protection money. The Rabbonim in Meah Shearim are scared of them.
These are the same bums that are trying to steal property and apartments from Rav Meir Baal Haness of Kolel Poland. Same bums that cemented the Gerrer Rebbe’s son’s house closed on Hashana Rabba.
When one of them got beat up by some Gerrers, they took to the streets crying the “injustice”.
    Bunch of bums and criminals.

  6. Aren’t they like the mafia? Perhaps we should have Giuliani “visit” Israel? He stopped the mafia in NY, he should be able to do the job there too.
