    1) another name for William Jefferson Blythe IV?

    2) which president has a middle initial, but no middle name?

    3) during which president did uncle sam grow a beard?

    4) which president got stuck in a bathtub?

    5) (this one you’re gonna know) which president choked on a pretzel while watching the superbowl?

    6) which president was known as the “dead dog in the white house?”

    pretty easy ones!

WOODRIGE1: thanks. and yeah, i did grow since then, but not really from that – it’s despite that. which i think is what made me into a human being. fortunately, i have an amazing rav that helped me along the way. took a while, but we’re getting there. (“we” as in “I”!)

and if it’ll keep you in the bais medrash, anytime!

think of it like this: there a million pesukim and maamre chazal that tell us the reward for a specific mitzva. it’s not a secret. if someone only honors his parents so that he’ll live a long life, it’s not lishma – but he still did the mitzva. “mitoch she’lo lishma, bah lishma”

btw everyone: joseph’s not a moderator. he’s such a fake – he got a post moderated the other day. (was it yesterday?) so he and ROB are two old friends who formed a pact not to reveal anything to the rest of us, and they spend their days laughing at the rest of us. (wow what a run-on sentence!)

well maybe i’m superhuman and i have the same amount of maalos that usually are spread out between many different people! maybe!

lol i’m hyping it up. i’m really pretty normal with what i think is a healthy ego/self esteem. (but that’s still probably the reason why i’m not married… it’s ok – the guys have no idea what they’re missing out on!)

oh and SJS: “we” is my anav way of saying “i.” leant it from hashem from “na’ase adam”

lol jk – i dunno it’s just the way i talk sometimes. i’m a teacher so instead of saying “i taught,” i tend to say “we learnt.” just a habit. there’s only one of me!

i’m not afraid to answer. i just feel like it’ll be a waste of my time.

and i used to be WAY more grey. till i realized that my open-mindedness stemmed from idiocy. and i honestly try to think. there’s a limit as to what a thinking person can accept from others and i make my own limits. yours might be different – good for you. but i’m not about to argue with someone who opposes my opinion before i open my mouth. what’s the point?

    squeak: you’re 100% right.

at the same time, my self image is more than perfect. (i’m probably prettier than three quarters of the girls out there… i kinda have a tremendous ego ;-)…) my skin is great, B”H but i still love wearing makeup. it just enhances. without a little bit of eye-liner i’m not a person!

then again, i see girls that wear close to nothing on their faces and look great. sometimes it’s just a different look.

no way! we’re looking for a REAL yeshiva guy! (don’t tell him i’m on the internet!) but my brother’s a lawyer. (he was the top guy in his grade before he messed up, but we’ll leave that for a different thread) he said the frum(ish) jewish guys have it a bit easier.

anyway, i perk up when i hear something that has the connotation “brains”

it’s not the standard in the home that cuases kids to go off. it’s the atmosphere. it’s the approach. and i’m not blaming parents or teachers or kids. every situation is different.

BUT, attitude can help in a sense that at least the kid won’t be turned off or bitter. you never know – he might turn around one day.

when the jews returned to build the second bais hamikdash, one of the things ezra made sure was that the makeup/perfume merchants would visit the far out towns. seems like it was necessary – i’m sure ezra had a lot of things on his mind but look what one of his first takanos was!

btw Mrs. B – the pasuk in yeshaya rebukes bnos tzion for their blue eye makeup and perfume. so apparently those two are not for wearing outside.
