I personally love good music, and I very much appreciate and enjoyed his CD (before the sefira).

Health, you definitely have a good point.

About the claim that if the going salary would be higher then there would be plenty more eligible older people going for the job, well I think that the kids enjoy younger people with more geshmak (enthusiasm) then the older (even the more experienced) and most directors know this, and are appreciating the ongoing acceptance of the low pay for the younger ones.

Chesedname: i think that oomis is tring to tell u that he is not talking about laws, legally, we are talking about Yiddishkeit, and maners (wich go together), and i agree to that.

And about the Yeshivos; u seem to have not gone to the yishivos which “allow” smoking (you may be a female), so i will tell u that there is no yeshiva that i know about that allows smoking. The point that was said about being strict is also not true. In mesivtas (high school) again every yeshiva i know about, is strict about it. However you will find that in Beis Medresh (after 12th grade) there are places that are not strict about it. This is understandable, since they are already 18 years old. So (chesedname) if u want to look at it in a leagal way – they are 18 – and in a religious way, i don’t want to get into an hashkafic talk, but b’kitzur this is what they are doing at this age (the age that usually one has his commen sence) (and other reasons combined, about having an outlet, not doing worse things..), so they wont be so strict on them.

There is no halachic difference, it would be hard to explain to you the layout if you had not been there. Have you viseted Israel before? Also i’m tring to figure your name, is it Pasach Bechachma?

i agree to passion all the way. i had it the same way, sometimes i made about 700, and this summer i made 300 with tips (it was in an is/am dc in Isreal).

And to Hiding, i think it was silly not to make up before hand in that situation for a better salory.

This one is true, a (so called) shadchan called my mother and offered a great boy for my sister, and after saying only praises about him the shadchan mentioned that he wants to put on a shtreimel after he gets married, after hearing that my mother tells her, well sorry she is not looking for that type… Then quickly says (with the accent) don’t worry he will only wear it once a week!!!

Most people either don’t bother or even know about the securing option, so therefore it might be stealing if u are taking away from him.
