Add some margarine (1/4 cup for 8 qt), a carrot and a sweet potato. Margarine mimics the beef fat and carrot and sweet potato replaces the beef taste. I used to make parve chullent, and it came out delicious! Hatzlacha! And Bon Appétit!

Not sure why you would want that. But you can usually mirror an image on a computer (which will change the direction) so if you scan sheet and save as image you can edit it. Subsequently any words on page would be unreadable.

To the best of my knowledge mesivta gemorahs have rashi printed in it!! 😜 I don’t understand what the problem is. Why does the fact that there is an explanation on the other side of the page mean that you shouldn’t learn rashi. Seem like your friend had a bad influence on you! Everyone has got to decide what they have time to learn! Point is to have a kvius in limud torah.

Obviously I didn’t mean it’s never recommended! Just that if someone is deliberating (which vibes emanating from the OP suggest) then it’s not recommended. It’s something that needs to done under certain circumstances.

I’m gonna get flack for this (good thing there’s social distancing so you can’t punch me in the face!). Not to judge any case specifically but these days with so many marriages ending in divorce it’s hard to believe that in every case divorce was the only option (leaving out cases where one party was either abusive or mentally unstable). Before anyone gets married they must understand marriage is about giving, it’s not about you. You can’t change someone else, only yourself. This all takes work, it’s not supposed to be easy. Secondly when two people get together they are two individuals, so there are different opinions, wants and likes, if small differences are not worked out and discussed they become bigger problems which create situations that lead to divorce.

Its definitely not recommended! It’s also not an ‘option’ the only reason to get divorced is if there is no other option, so shouldn’t make a difference what it’s like!

Baruch Levine used to have free sheet music for all his songs on his website. I believe if you email him he will send it.
Playjewishmusic has a bunch of useful jewish music related stuff for free. Also available are piano lessons, either (zoom) one on one or video courses (not free).

I’m not sure what all this off topic gibberish is… basically my point was more correct than I thought! 😋 we definitely have the Mishnah berurah saying you can shave on Friday when Roah Chodesh Iyar is Shabbos even though Friday is also Rosh Chodesh!

Excerpt from email from R Eitan Feiner “Even one who typically follows Rav Yehuda HaChassid’s instruction to avoid shaving/haircuts on Rosh Chodesh, according to several Poskim (Rav Moshe Feinstein; Rav Y. S. Elyashiv), he may indeed shave when Rosh Chodesh I’yar coincides with Erev Shabbos.”

Additionally my own 2 sense. I did a quick check on calendar it seems whenever rosh chodesh Iyar is on Shabbos, Friday Is also rosh chodesh (at least in our set calendar) and the M”B is talking about rosh chodesh Iyar when he says it’s muttar to shave/haircut. So it seems we have the M”B also that’s allowing shave/haircut on Rosh Chodesh (at least when its Lkovod Shabbos and Rosh chodesh) (maybe he’s even allowing shave/haircut on Rosh Chodesh lekovod shabbos throughout the year even when shabbos is not Rosh Chodesh).

There are differences of opinion on what exactly R Moshe held, R Dovid Feinstein holds his father did not mean switching from ‘1st half’ to ‘2nd half’ but when R Moshe said in teshuva you can switch from year to year he misunderstood the question, his psak was in ‘2nd half’ to start from 1st day rosh chodesh or second day. He holds it’s a mistake for bnei askenaz ( only sefardim can correctly keep ‘1st half’) to take on ‘first half’ and he forbids people from from going to a ashkenazi wedding after lag b’omer! I have heard a psak the other way that if you keep ‘1st half’ and you have sibling’s wedding (or even your own wedding) before rosh chodesh, keep your minhag (1st half) but permitted them to shave for wedding!

Chometz is already assur min hatorah from chatzos, the gemorah makes a drosha from ‘ach’ since ‘lo sishchat al hachometz,’ we learn from ‘ach’ to divide day in half, half day chometz and half day matzah. The chachomim just moved issur of owning chometz 1 hour back, and issur achilah 2 hours back.

Its bein hazmanim, you can try to find a bachur to build for you. You really want one made out real plywood and not pressboard like all the cheap ones. Btw even sauder is made with with pressboard but they have thicker shelves so they are pretty solid. At about $120 saucer is considered cheap. I dont think you can find anything cheaper than that unless you build yourself.
    Hatzlacha!

Rebbitzen, are you totally stupid. Are you really saying now, since you found one lubavitcher that was accepted it now gives license to anyone lubavitch to do whatever they want.
Joseph, 100 percent true, lubavitch for the most part made a wrong turn and many of them today are mixed up in their hashkafos. It doesn’t mean that everyone lubavitch is a kofer.
I was flying back from EY and sitting across the isle from me was a lubavitch bachur, maybe 15 years old. Before he began ‘davening’ shacharis he took out a picture of the rebbe from his tefilin bag, propped it up on his tray table and began praying (to him).
Rebbitzen I’m not sure what makes you assume R Landau followed all the controversial customs of chabad. I won’t comment because I dont know, but one thing I do know he did not pray to an image of the rebbe!

Rebbitzen, Allow me to clarify, what I meant by twisting halacha is, we have a mesorah on halacha, which shitos we follow and how we are mekayim specific mitzvos. So when you come in with new ideas and pull tidbits of information from multiple sources and come up with a innovative way to do a mitzvah, that’s what I call twisting. More so is your tone, haughtily putting people down and making a mockery of chazal and halacha.

Wow rebbitzen you just flip flopped. First you say, you can l’chatchilah perform bedikah b4 the 14th now you clarify its lechatchilah only if you leave over 1 room for the 14th. So just to make clear for everyone, bedikah is lechatchilah supposed to be done on the 14th (that’s where the ikur takanah was mesukan). Sometimes it may b’dieved (because no berocha can be recited) be done before the 14th (i.e. person won’t be present on 14th), but is supposed to be performed on the last night you are home because Unless you vacate the premises and no one is allowed in, you will need to perform bedikah again on 14th. So in essence your original post is factually incorrect, you can’t have your cake and eat it to, you can’t do a bedikah lechatchilah and then be ready to leave your house at a moments notice. You would lechatchilah need to leave over 1 room for the 14th to make a berocha on. So you would need to wait with the rest of us to get on the ‘bus’.
Besides for the fact that you would not need to do bedika anyway on a house that you are relinquishing ownership. It’s clear from gemorah in pesochim regarding maskir and socher that only in that case where the maskir retains (part/ikur) ownership of the property he may need to do bedikah. It’s clear that a sale or even just being mafkir a property (where no bailus remains) would absolve his chiyuv. Additionally the MB states clearly when you leave a rental property (b4 14th, owned by a goy) the only time you need to do bedikah b4 you leave is if you dont have another place to be mekayeim the mitzvah of bedikah later.

    Rebbitzen Bitcha,
It is disgusting how you twist everything and make a mockery of halacha and hashkafa.
But either way be careful because when moshiach comes and you’re the only one sitting on your cloud (cuz everyone else is be busy doing bedika) we will all see who you are!!
