The question is one and only what is and what was the halocho on the matter and that is up to interpretation of a lot of tshuvois and sugyois that there were rabonim that knew how to disect the info and how to get the info they needed and there were rabbonim that didn’t..

    Dear yitzy!
When dealing with any thing in life the guideline for the Orthodox Jew is halocho. If you ever take a test on any halocho in the whole toire and you answer machloikes on all the question s you will score at least 80%. When asking why drum people do something you should know the answers won’t be found here the answers you may find in shulchan oruch and in its commentaries. If you want marei mekomos I can post a few.

the reason in derech hateva is vitamin d which is supplied by the sun mainley and the more you are covered up the less you get and therefor in israel were the sun is strong the fraye yiden and those that arent into covering up much have a plenyfull supply but the frum yiden get the brunt because we coverup [boruch hashem] and so do we get it every were we live esspecially were there is no sun [london] and so is the reason for lehavdil laelef alfey havdolois frum arabs.
and the shelo kderech hateva is that when hashem prings pironiyois the tzadikim get hurt first and formost not the reshoim. but eretz yisroel is allways diffferent as eineiy hashem elokecho boi meireishis hashonoh ad acharis shonoh. we should all be zoiche to yeshuas hashem bkoroiv

You should keep silent! I personally knew mirrer yeshiva bochurim from mir that went through shangchai. If any one today would be like them he would be considered an extremes. They were frum and Ehrlich tzadikim masmidim etc…they looked modern in dress but that’s were it stopped. I knew Reb Ahron Kreizer. I Knew Reb Sholoim Shapiro. Reb Chaim Pinchos Scheinberg. They spent nights up.learning because it was so hot they kept wet towels on there head. I knew one that finished the whole Seder Noshim Gemoroh 70 times in Shanghai
besides for before and after. Reb Chaim ponchos was a maloch… Please keep being silent
    Thanx

As of the decision to who decides what mainstream is. Its the same as asking what is normal I remember talking to a nurse in miamanadies hospital who we thought was Jewish and we asked her if she is. She said her mother is Jewish and her father is Christian we asked her about her own children and she told us her husband is Christian so she will let her children decide for themselves. We asked her that it might mix them up and she said no it all right “didn’t I turn out allright I’m not so bad” that is perception of good bad right and wrong. Nthat are the parameters for deciding what can be included in mainstream. If most people would become cannibales it would be mainstream but it still wouldn’t be right or good. Even if for the mainstream it would be considered acceptable.

most people human beings do what their parents do and therefor deemed tinok shenishbu even though usually people will rationalize why there way is right rather than really focus on what’s true or really fact so to say that there really are three factions and they aren’t really one is a mistake on both sides their really are no orthodox or reform there really are only people doing mostly what they were brought up to do as for the ones that do go away from their parents ways on both sides in most cases there are other factors to the reasons to the decision besides for zealously striving for the pure truths of life and the universe

a- why should they know b- the fact that their parents are doing things for them that are definitely, in the short term, things that are negative to their feelings and still doing it for their offspring’s need or want that shows them that there is an unconditional love ticking inside them and that’s a turn on that at the end can trigger a happy return to the ways of hashem

    !??? ????? ???????? ?????

we do teshuva on our for fathers sins we also can be punished for their sins if we keep up there sinful ways even though we are separate humans we are still a part of them and basically the punishment is supposed to be a cleanser but how does that help someone who passed on the answer is that when a child is punished for his parents deeds and he knows about it the anguish of the parent is tenfold the pain of the child, as for how pain cleanses I won’t get into

As for repenting after a soul departs it is possible look in even Shlomo from the Vilna gaon it helps up to a certain extent it doesn’t take away the punishment but it reconciles your love with the ribono shel oilom

i was in koillel in yerushalayim at the time and my mother phoned me to my cell and told me the twin towers were toppled and i was in shock as were all the koillel young men americans and europeans alike i went home after seider and looked for someone with access to internet and saw the whole thing i was and still am in fright of what my eyes saw of the people crammed in the windows of the top floors and then the rumble and the cloud of the first tower collapsing i think that i still suffer from the panic that got into me then i have never felt the same again at any time it went into me even more than all the bombings in eretz yisroel where i live with my family

i remember learning about the ehrlicher yidden nebbech killed on that day and all the other innocent people! i feel it like today!

that terror attack took away any feeling of stability in my heart in erets yisroel we always know we arent stable we are always under attack r”l but the twin towers the wtc in “our very own america” the land of the free and brave? how could such a thing happen? well it did and the lesson will last a lifetime! may the lessons learnt on that day be liluy nishmas all those that perished that day

rashi in shabbos says that when the gemoroh says ma dsane loch lechaveroch lo savid means veohavto lreiacho komoicho, [what you dont like for yourself dont do to your friend]

the ramban in chumash and the maharsho in the gemoro say that if one loves some one else as themselves they wouldn’t be complied to keep the law of chayecho kodmin so the ramban says it means as “raf” said

as far as gender there is a chiyuv to every one every gender no difference at all we are all yidden, addarabe the chiyuv of one to love his spouse is based according to most shitois on this chiyuv with additions drabbonon

2 things 1 the gemoro says one has to see his wife before marriage to that nothing disturbs him not attractive 2 I didn’t say that looks are not important just that looks are trends and what people expect and accept if a bochur knows his wife will shave because his and her mother did so it will not disturb him, if a frum bochur sees 2 girls on a bus or plane etc.. one is wearing jeans sleeveless etc. and the other one is dressed like a frum Beis Yakov girl the bochur is more attracted to the Beis Yakov girl than to the pritza she isn’t in his system at all as the even Ezra explains loi sachmoid, hair his something attractive yes but again it depends for whom, you can look up the ads of less than 100 years ago when woman were looking to gain a few pounds you can also look at the pictures of your parents or grandparents weddings and you’ll see the sheitel and hairdos of those woman don’t attract you in the least maybe even the opposite it all is relevant to what you are used to and what you accept and expect!
