JosephParticipant
mepal, PM said that the 14 year old is the oldest of the nineteen.
JosephParticipantnameless, I heard the story taking place in E. Yisroel, with the chosson as the driver.
JosephParticipantPM: So why the delay? You have 9 to catch-up!!
JosephParticipantDavid: It is to your credit that you thought about the letter for a while. The correct conclusion IMHO is to simply realize that ones actions has heavenly consequences.
JosephParticipantWhy any addiction?
JosephParticipantnameless, I’ve heard other iterations of your maaisele. 🙂
JosephParticipantFree babysitting for the next 4 boys.
JosephParticipantIf someone is being lax with halacha, then they are not counted for that mitzvah.
JosephParticipantPM: Rather than waiting to marry off the girls, it may just be quicker to add to the count of boys…
JosephParticipantIt is obvious that the OP suffers from this syndrome, by the very title of this thread (and opening line of the OP.)
JosephParticipantAt least there are more boys… it is what we call a good start. 🙂
JosephParticipantbein, why do you assume its been going on for a long time?
JosephParticipantWait, I don’t think that was the first time… Didn’t we once agree on the weather??
JosephParticipantSJS, it is dependant upon ones minhug. Some do the tnuyim before the wedding, while others do it at the wedding.

JosephParticipantworking: that guy is obviously a bum.
July 13, 2009 4:23 pm at 4:23 pm in reply to: Lakewood – Getting Accepted Into Girls High Schools #650947JosephParticipantcherrybim, that is the clarification I sought. Your first comment didnt qualify your statement as being applicable to students already in the school.
JosephParticipantCan’t argue with that. And don’t forget pidyon haben, upsherin, etc.
July 13, 2009 2:34 pm at 2:34 pm in reply to: Lakewood – Getting Accepted Into Girls High Schools #650940JosephParticipantcherrybim, I’m not aware of the poskim ruling that a girl has a RIGHT to go to the school of her CHOICE. (I don’t see how that would even be possible, space-wise.) Please clarify.
JosephParticipantHopefully 10 boys, considering the cost to make a shidduch for a girl LOL!
July 13, 2009 2:18 pm at 2:18 pm in reply to: Lakewood – Getting Accepted Into Girls High Schools #650938JosephParticipantanon, that sounds very intriguing and reasonable.
JosephParticipantSoon enough, PM will IY’H have an at-home minyan.
JosephParticipantA groisa Mazal Tov to PM upon the birth of his 10th(!!) child! Asach nachas to PM and his entire Rebbishe mishpacha!!!
JosephParticipantMazal Tov PM!!
JosephParticipantbein hasdorim, why is it preferable to prevent the girl from being turned down (rather than the guy)? Is it the emotional issue?
JosephParticipant42, at the Mir?
JosephParticipantI’ve had it (actually about a dozen accounts) for over a year (since it has been GrandCentral) and it is a “must-have” service to behold.
JosephParticipantAre we talking about an AC or a DC current?
JosephParticipantIs my ticket sponsered by the tzibber?
JosephParticipantI’m not usually moved by tznius
You ought to be.
I have to give it some thought
You should.
JosephParticipantPakistan has nukes. Iran is still attempting to obtain them.
JosephParticipantThis is fitting for this thread. It was posted by someone a few days ago on the main YWN site, and am re-posting here:
My Dear Sisters,
I am writing to you in my last moments, with the last threads of my strength. I am writing to you with blood and tears, from the bottom of my broken and tormented heart.
Yes, I, Revital Avraham, 19 years old, am standing on the threshold of death, so young, but already feeling all the gates of life shutting slowly before me. I am like a beautiful flower closing its petals.
Like all of you, I had my dreams about love, husband, children and social position.
But Hashem has decided otherwise, and I know today that if I had lived differently, this would have not happened.
And then I received a second sign from above. One night I had a dream about my grand-mother. She was sitting on a stone and crying. I asked her why she was crying, and she pointed to her head without saying a word. I woke up very upset, but I forgot the whole thing very quickly, and this second sign melted away without any thought.
Revital Avraham
Dear Sisters, our modesty is our power! How important it is!
Revital died a short time after writing this letter Her last will was a request to publish it.
May her memory be blessed and her message embraced by all!
Thank you Joseph(f). Mepal posted this in the CR months ago

JosephParticipantA pious nation.
JosephParticipantApparently Mutually Assured Destruction was sufficient to prevent nuclear war during the cold war.
JosephParticipantau contraire
JosephParticipantI’m talking about plain halacha, not chumras.
JosephParticipantjf02, when you started posting in the CR, you still had never had your first cup of coffee.
Look what has happened to you.
JosephParticipantIn this generation, with our current unfortunate situation, we need to be vigilant of unacceptable leniency in this area.
JosephParticipantsqueak- suffice it to say that I have seen half century long ago, which, i daresay, you are still aspiring to- le-orech jomim

JosephParticipantadios.
JosephParticipantB’H I don’t know anyone who went OTD, in general. Does that mean no one went OTD?
JosephParticipantJothar, you had the same opinion about concerts that many Roshei Yeshivos DID ban.

JosephParticipantA600KB – If you are wondering why your posts on the main site show up as Anonymous, it is due to a bug when registering your screen name in the CR. If a username is registered via the main site, it displays correctly in both the CR and on the main site.
JosephParticipantThank you, Feivel.
JosephParticipantso the espionage must be domestic…
JosephParticipantThanks squeak. I was just forewarning the newbies here.
JosephParticipantJosh: Disagreed.
