Midwest2: Five million (that’s 5,000,000) more Americans voted that Hillary should not be President than voted that she should be President. So she would not be in. If no one got a majority, as occurred in 2016, in a system where there’s no Electoral College then a runoff (or an “instant runoff” — google that) should occur to determine a winner – since no one won.

And like DY correctly pointed out, if the election had been based on a popular vote then the candidates would have campaigned FAR differently than they did. And the outcome would’ve been much different, and incomparable to the election we had based on the Electoral College. Both candidates would’ve heavily campaigned in deep red and deep blue States rather than only campaigning in swing States.

Milhouse, I didn’t comment on whether the Acting Secretary has any rights under the 25th Amendment.

As far as the VP’s power under the 25th, you’re correct that that’s an additional constitutional power given him relatively recently. I thought that was self-understood based on the above discussion of the 25th but should’ve been clearer in my comment on the VP’s powers. I could’ve also been contextually clearer commenting about Acting Secretaries. Thank you for pointing these out.

YY, please quote any non-Democrat who agrees with your mathematically-challenged definition. And not the Democrat-heavy Wikipedia moderators-approved edits.

Every jurisdiction chooses who wins elections slightly differently. Many will have a runoff if no one gets 50%+1 vote. Including in New York City citywide primaries and in various other states, including statewide contests.

The VP has no constitutional powers other than presiding over the Senate, without a voting right (unless there’s a tie.) The VP can depose no one.

When a cabinet member is fired or becomes vacant there is always an immediate Acting Secretary that replaces him.

Health, you’re factually incorrect. Goyim are obligated to believe Hashem is G-d.

Gaon, relatively speaking Hawking is a lot worse than Einstein. Hawking was a bad goy whereas Einstein, for all his many faults was still a Yid – albeit a Yid gone wrong.

YY, no she did not win the popular vote. No one but Democrats make that mathematically false claim. 48.2% is not winning the popular vote by any mathematical definition. A plurality is not a majority. Most American voters voted against Clinton.

Let’s note that given three opportunities to give even one single example of what “GAON” thinks Hawking ym’s bestowed upon mankind that “Gaon” considers to be an emesdike חכמה, Gaon could not find even one example to share.

This is because Hawking’s life work in pseudo-science is strongly focused on pure kefira such as black holes, big bangs, the supposed “origin of the universe” and junk science like that. Certainly nothing regarding the יש חכמה בגוים – תאמן that Gaon is misapplying to Hawking ym’s.

smerel: In English that’s a minority, not a majority. It’s a plurality, but certainly not a majority.

That’s English 101 for you. Come back tomorrow for English 102.

To summarize, she did not win the popular vote. To “win” the popular vote you need at least 50% + 1 vote. She received 48.2%.

    Gaon:

“Health, please explain how believing in “Spinoza’s god” is worse than denying the existence of God altogether?”

Of course its NOT – but in a way for a Jew (i.e. Einstein) it is…

How is it worse for a Jew to believe “Spinoza’s god” than for the Jew to believe G-d does not exist?

“Hawking contributed nothing useful to mankind. What emesdike חכמה do you attribute to Hawking?!”

Thanks for proving us how knowledgeable you are in the works of Science….

That’s a non-answer because you have no answer. Hawking’s contributed zero emesdike חכמה to mankind.

“Hawking was much worse than Aristotle”

Hawking did NOT write books claiming kefira. Kefira statements were just made in interviews — as his personal belief ,as per Science.

This is hooey. Kefira is kefira whether he writes them in books or expresses them in mass media interviews for the public. Hawking was worse than Aristotle.

shmerel: She didn’t win the popular vote. She lost it as no one won since no candidate received a majority of the popular vote. Clinton got 48.2% of the vote, which according to my math teacher, is less than a majority. Or as they say in English, a minority of the vote.

No, she doesn’t. The decision whether to assent to legislation is made not by the Queen but by the active members of the Privy Council, which is to say the Cabinet. She has no say in the matter.

Milhouse: The Queen has the legal right to make the determination whether to grant or refuse Royal Assent regardless of what the Privy Council recommends. That said, its been a very long time since any monarch refused Royal Assent.

Geordie, you most certainly can make a most compelling argument that ending SA apartheid was a great error.

As far as your Queen is concerned, she may certainly be all you describe. But her family, including her heir apparent, is most certainly not any moral example or anything close to a moral example. Nor are very many of her ancestors who reigned before her, both recent ones and ones of old. G-d only help your country when Charlie Boy takes over. (Thankfully his first wife, who was worse than himself, got her just deserts already and will never be crowned even as Queen Consort.)

In any event, her Royal Assent is a pretty serious power she still legally possess.

Gaon, Hawking was much worse than Aristotle. So your comparison is way off. Aristotle wasn’t even an atheist, aside from the many other far worse attributes of Hawking compared to Aristotle.

Secondly. and in addition to the above, Hawking contributed nothing useful to mankind. What emesdike חכמה do you attribute to Hawking?!

And that’s all aside from Hawking being a kofer gomor, aside from him being a rasha gomor and aside from him being an anti-semite gomor.
