Its a sakanah for a pregnant woman to step on cut nails. As per the Gemara, the sakanah is only when the nail is stepped on in its original place where it fell. If the nail falls to the ground and is then moved around it no longer presents a sakanah.

Generally with these kinds of sakanah, since we dont understand the reasons behind it, the prevailing opinion is that we dont extend the sakanah to anything more than what is said.

Copied from Ohr Somayach Ask the Rabbi http://ohr.edu/ask/ask131.htm

Question: You are one of the judges in a Jewish court in a capital case. It is your turn to state your opinion. If you say, “I find the defendant innocent,” then the defendant receives the death penalty. But if you say, “I find the defendant guilty,” he goes ‘scot-free.’ What is the case?

Answer: You are the last judge to vote, where all the other judges have already said ‘guilty.’

According to Torah law, convicting someone of a capital crime requires a Sanhedrin of 23 judges. After hearing testimony from eye-witnesses, the judges vote. If at least thirteen of the judges vote ‘guilty’ the defendant is executed.

There is a surprising exception to this, however if ALL the judges vote guilty, then the defendant is acquitted.

    Here’s why:

There are two ways to look at everything. There’s no situation in this world without some merit or positive side. If not one judge was able to see the good side and declare the defendant innocent, something’s wrong. The positive side of the case must have been missing during the presentation of the evidence. Therefore, he is acquitted.

yeshivishHak Poppa- why do they have to chare everyone? And even if they do, they dont have to deposit the checks or send a second letter or the like. I know of an ambulance company that if the patient doesnt respond the first or second invoice they drop it.

A Woman outside bklyn- Most yeshiva bachurim send their shirts to the dry cleaners. BB shirts can be laundered at home and look great. After a while it is cost effective to buy BB shirts.

Also……. did you know that within the first couple of years if you have any complaint you can bring the shirt back to any BB store and they will give you a new one? I did this twice!

I have watched Steve Bayner several times the last one being last week. I once saw a frum woman on stage start cuddling the man next to her when the hypnotist made them think it was freezing outside and when he said to get romantic.

Now this woman was dressed tznius, although she wouldnt be classified as a BJJ graduate.

My understanding is that a hypnotist cant get you to do anything that is against your morals. Not sure what happened in this case. Her eyes were closed the whole time and i she didnt even know who was next to her. (In her mind it may have been her husband) But when the hypnotist said to remove some clothes because it is so hot outside only one male removed his shirt.

If everyone would involve themselves in same gender marraige and consider it on par with traditional marriage, the world would cease to exist….barring test tube babies. This tells me this is not the way the world was meant to be.

The site is getting better. However, dates are needed.

In the business news, one line reads “Stocks Rally” and a several lines later it says “Stocks Slide”!!!!!!

Just my 2 cents. I may be just repeating some previous comments.

    1. Too much information on the home page. Makes the page look too busy and as if you are trying to cram every possibe news item onto it.

    2. Font is too small.

    3. Limited text per each news item.

    4. Number of comments not visible.

    5. News items are not dated

    6. Margins are not visible. (F5 did not work for me. Granted it is Windows XP!)

    7. Some of the items are very old. Is anyone interested in reading about “no school on shushan purim” today?? (Clearing out outdated info will facilitate the improvement of the above issues)

    8. Clicking on a photo shown on the home page doesnt take you to the particular picture, just to the photos page. (I understand that this may be intentional)

    Thank you and Hatzlochoh Raboh!!!
