Depending on the work situation, if the Husband works in the City, he doesnt need the car. Most families work out car arrangements especially if one spouse member needs the car for a reason (Like food SHopping, Car Pooling or taking a kid to the doctor)

Most taxi drivers are male (I said MOST not all) because of the perceived danger in the job

    No I dont

So a woman in KJ cant drive and therefore must use car services driven by a man who is not her husband and that is considered Tzniut, but a woman driving her own car with no men and the kinderlach safely tucked in the back seat (When using car services people dont always properly use car seats) is not considered Tzniut

I am really confused how do you get from Women Driving to children disprecting their elders. One has nothing to do with the other. Driving is just a nessasary neutral act of modern life, no different than turn on the lights, Shall we say women should not turn on lights.

There is no mixed messages about driving, most people do it because its a part of life. In fact most frum women do it because they are carpooling their kids to school.

In any event, the point regarding E”Y litvish women stands. Try finding women driving in Bnei Brak.

Try finding women who drive in Riyadh

That was how their rebbeim taught them, and how the rebbeim of their

rebbeim taught them, going back many generations. It’s not

like they decided one day to create an entry barrier…

And it’s not like there aren’t any Torah classes in English.

Moshe taught the Torah in Yiddish to Yehoshua , Yehusua taught it to the Elders in yiddish , the Elders to the Prophets in yiddish , and the Prophets gave it over to the Men of the Great Assembly in yiddish

The women I see driving in BP are the chassidish women, they are not the more modern ones or the litvish ones.

Always : Bshana Makom , Bshana Mazel

In E’Y the women Litvish probably dont drive because its too expensive. In Lakewood the women most certainly do drive.

In Boro Park I think quite a few chassidic women do drive.

There is a distinction between living in Williamsburg where everything is quite close to each other, there is traffic congestion. And you can walk or talk Public transport fairly easily and KIryat Joel where things are further apart and a car is much more nessasary and it is a hinderance for people especially with many kids not to drive

I used to think shuls should accept everyone however recently 2 individuals occassionaly attend my shul have made me change my mind

One has been accused of certain things (bur not convicted) that could put the safety of children at risk. Thankfully he does not live in the neighborhood, but was considering moving. When he comes we closely observe him and if he would move to the neighborhood and join our shul I would strongly object to him attending

The other who does attend semi regularly is a bit off and behvaves strangely and sometimes a bit menacing . I know the Rabbi is watching him closely

I am also sure Hashem also gets alot of Nachass from all the Chachnasat Orchim from Shabbat and the Shidduchem from sawyouatsinai

And Maybe just maybe Hashem gets alot of Nachass from all the yidden who are able to learn torah and hear shiurim they would not otherwise be able to do. Have you considered that possibility?

Every Godol has said, repeatedly and forcefully, that there is no heter to have it in the home, and that includes for learning. So yes, by following daas Torah, I know what Hashem wants from a person.

I think we can agree the people who run sites like torahanytime , yutorah , sawyouatsinai , shabbat etc are frum people and are doing mitzvoh with their websites

    5. Hebrew Books.org many Seforim would be out of reach for many as they are either limited prints or out of print and now you have easy access to them

And so my point remains. The pros of the internet (as far as domestic use is concerned) are anyway minimal and arguable.

    1. You can earn a Parnassah

    2. There is alot of Torah available on the internet that would not otherwise be available (Torahanytime for example)

    3. Shopping is easier and you get can better prices and more information on what to buy and even if you go to a B&M , you can still use the information obtained on the internet for a better price and/or better product

    4. Its makes communication much easier with family in Israel as calls can be free and you can skype to see your grandparents and/or grandchildren and other family members when travel is expensive and difficult

When candidates who support immorality promise money to certain organizations get a warm welcome in our communities, thats OK. But If I want to earn a moral parnassah thats not OK?

I sell stuff on the internet, that is how I make my parnassah, If everyone would go to the store on Black Friday instead of shopping online I would need to find a new source of income.

While this might be unpopular , sometimes in life you have to pick your battles and unless you are this boys mother (and even then) , If you attempt to teach certain things , it might backfire and it might backfire badly.

I know your intentions are good, but sometimes its best to stay out of it unless you are certain not only if the boy will listen but that it wont backfire

There are plenty of parts of Nach the christians spend more time reading than jews do 🙁

When was the last time you read Yishaya? All one has to do is walk down the cars of a Subway train and you will always see a few people reading the bible , you will rarely see a frum jew reading Nach. In fact if you walk through the Beis Medrash you will rarely find people learning Yishya or Trei Assar.

Unless someone is a Gadol, I seriosuly doubt they know somewhat obscure pasuks in Shir Hashirum

I think Klezmer has died because jewish people dont play those instruments anymore, Not many frum people play anything except Keyboard, Guitar or Drums

Klezmer used alot of wind instruments, I looked at Wikipedia and it said Clarinet and Trumpet (Also Saxophone), those are what I was thinking of

You dont have to be jewish to play Klezmer, its just the style. The Saxophone does not make one a Klezmer, Its the style not instrument

Real Jewish Music is not what we call today “Jewish Music” real jewish music is Klezmer, which is hardly played today, there are a few non-relgious jews who keep klezmer alive but for the most part its dead.

Klezer uses certain instruments (I think like the Saxaphone)

If you arent sure what Klezmer is, Hava Negiliah is a Klezmer song (No its not relgious and wasnt meant to be, but at the time all jewish music sounded that way)

“lo tehora” would easily translate to not pure, however a real Euphemism is not something a computer would translate. Its meaning means nothing, however both speaker and listener know what you mean.

I also thought when KJ used butcher, it was a typo. so I got what he meant. However thats why spelling and grammar are important, your meanings can get totally misunderstood

I went to see a butcher today, or I went to see a Bucher today . Has 2 different meanings
