In the end it would go to the Supreme Court in front of 9 justices.

There is no way 5 justices would allow this law to stand. 3 of them are jewish (I know Ruth Bader Ginsburg has met Bais Yaakov School groups)

Because there is Ballot initives there, You only need 7100 signatures to get one.

Its not hard to get that many signatures in a large city like San Francisco

There is a difference between punishment and HARSH Punishment

Punishment would be to ban him from graduation, HARSH punishment is to expell him.

For those who think he should be punished, Why isnt banning him from graduation good enough punishment (That is a fairly harash punishment in itself and should deter further offenders, Make a point, yet IMO not damage the boy) after all his still a TEENAGER

The punishment should fit the crime. Assumimg the Kid DID talk to a girl and even went out on a date and was WARNED about doing it.

The menhahel was still wrong. Teenagers do make mistakes and they should be punsihed for them. but to kick him out is a little extreme.

to compare going on a date to bringing in a cross is not even close.

Boys have school many nights until 9pm and Sunday until 3 or 4 pm.

Kids need some time off. I know of Boys who have a Chavursa during RECESS at School.

Recess is not meant for a short Chavursa, Its meant for a BREAK.

If you want to say Bittul Torah, fine, but then everything not learning is Bittul Torah. Is Eating and Sleeping Bittul Torah.

Rav Nissim Alpert once had a tooth extracted because he did not want to “waste” the time in the dentist chair to fix it.

    Family time is NEVER counter-productive.

A parent can never spend too-much time with the kids.

OP – You said you would TRY to compensate. Something will come up, it always does. Spend family time NOW. you do not get it back

Why should the MO yeshiva take the boy.

MO schools are made for MO people not people the more right wing yeshivas dont want or expellese.

Besides an A Student at A right wing yeshiva would likely flunk at a MO yeshiva. Right wing schools tend to have poor secular studies while at MO schools the secular studies are important too. They take regular regents usually at MO schools not RCT exams.

Does it matter where the stuff came from

The Standard Jew Food today is Pizza and Chinese, You judge a jewish neighborhood by the number of Pizza Shops and Chinese takeouts. I dont think they were eating Pizza and Chinese in the Shtel.

The Standard Chasidic garb is actually Polish Aristicracy dress.

The Melody to Maoz Tsur is Germanic Church music.

Yiddish is a germanic language. More like German than Hebrew.

Does it matter what the source is, what matters is what it is used today

    April 15 is tax day

This year I had an issue with my taxes, While I used the computer Software it was giving an oddball result.

I had to manually go through my taxes and figure out what the Math was that caused this result. I also had to read the tax Book the figure out what the math was

Is doing your taxes Bitual Torah?

You need to know english and math to do the tax return. While its not hard, it does require decent education to figure it out

Edward VIII (the king who abdicated) was a Nazi Sympathizer and had Hitler been able to conquer England, he would have been put back on the thrown.

For those who dont understand reading poetry.

This is a book called “I never saw another Butterfly” it is a collection of poems written by children in Tereisinstadt, describing their life in that Ghetto.

And frankly the best observance of Yom Hashoa Ive ever seen was a dramatic reading of diaries from children in the Ghetto’s (Not Anne Frank) some were even with unknown authors.

One entry was from a girl in Lodz (author unknown) who stole food from her father because she was hungry and her reaction when she found out her father wasnt mad at her.

Another entry was from a boy in Vilna, writing about Ponary (The killing field for the Jews of Vilna) and everyone was scared to go to Ponary (He went there eventually as well) and his own thoughts about Ponary

Zip Code 11204 has 74,880 people

Instead of debating, you can go to Census.gov and get census information by Zip code or go to Wikipedia and get census information.

Not everyone in a particular area is Jewish or frum even in Borough park. I dont think any area has more than 50-75% frum (75% would be Borough Park or Monsey)

Williamsburgh it would be about 50% (maybe even lower) lots of hippies and latinos live there

I read non-fiction (especially History and Biography)

I am no writer and my writing skills are poor, but I can tell you the jewish books are terrible.

There are rules to writing English. Grammar , paragraph delopement, Story development etc . You might not like the rules when you are writing, but when you are reading a book, its important for these rules to be followed or else the book becomes unreadable.

It seems these jewish books dont follow those rules.

The Jewish book companies need to hire more proofreaders and copy editors to make sure these rules are kept

    There is a reality

Dead men tell no tales and its very difficult to tell the story of the holocaust from most jews because they were killed.

Obviously the most famous holocaust tale is Anne Frank, but that took place before the camps.

Even the story of the Warsaw Ghetto, There were very few survivors of the Warsaw Ghetto (Less than 1000), They put their archives in Milk Cans for retrieval. They found 2 of the cans, but the third was never found.

There are 12 known pictures of Treblinka and One Photographic log of Auschwitz (Some Nazi took photos of one transport and thats the only one that survived)

I wont drive a clunker, but most cars can easily last 10-15 years without much hassle.

After 5 years the cost of owning becomes cheaper and cheaper.

I had my last car for 12.5 years and have my current one for 9 years. And the current one has never really been in the shop for repairs, just some body work , brakes and a timing belt that had to be replaced after 100,000 miles (That maintaince hurt a bit)
