VIDEO: Bush Details 9-11 In New Documentary

Former President George W. Bush outlines for the first time in a new documentary how events unfolded for him following the 9-11 attacks.

In the National Geographic Channel special, “George W. Bush: The 9-11 Interview,” the former President talks about the chaotic moments after the attacks and the reasoning behind decisions he made that day.

Bush reflects on being told about the attacks while visiting schoolchildren in Florida and the difficulty in getting accurate information in what he calls “the fog of war.”  He also talks about returning to the White House to address Americans in the hours after the terrorist attacks.

Fearing a possible psychological boost for al-Qaeda, Bush said he, quote, “damn sure wasn’t going to give it from a bunker in Nebraska.”

The former President recalls the emotional visit to Ground Zero just three days after the World Trade Center Towers were destroyed.

He describes “a palpable bloodlust” among workers in the ruins who were encouraging him to retaliate against those behind the attacks.

  2. My bus was supposed to pass by 10:10am under the towers but I ran late in B.P. davening. A few days later we went back to 15 Park Row to work. This video captures a lot of what actually happened there, some of the actual emotions, and the general feeling of the people in the area. It portrays President Bush in a very positive light as a real leader. He comes across as an active leader in control and not what we have today.

This video was very well done!

  3. I am just so impressed with what he said when he went to the wtc site. He said he made a decision to shake each and every persons hand and look into each of their eyes. That means that he realized that all those people were really human beings who lost people they knew and were traumatized by being there. I am just so moved by this!

  4. Here is a former President who did not have to read everything on a TelaPrompter. Here is a President who did not apologize for America’s greatness. Here is a President who tried to keep America great. Compare to what we have now!
Now is a president who goes around the world apologizing for America. Today the president has Jeff Imelt in his jobs cabinet who is giving jobs in Red China; American Jobs because he can make more profit. Last week the president says he wants to see Made in America labels; what a joke when his immediate friend Jeff Imelt is giving
out technology to Red China. What a difference. I am just glad obama was not President on 9-11-01.
