  1. I just read a weather forecast for atlanta and they are scheduling showers and thunderstorms tonight.. also the extended forecast has a lot about rain next week, but they’re almost never right this far in advance

  2. Why all the sarcasm Why can’t we “fargin” when someone is sincerely praying to end the drought and making a Gevaldige Kiddush Hashem in the process?
Please keep your criticism for where it belongs.

  3. nfgo – my anscestors all came here legally. That’s the right way. These illegals are draining our economy & destroying our country. Let them come here legally & pay taxes, etc. & then I will welcome them.

  4. Geshem and lulav are not on the same day. Hoshanas would have been more suitable for tefillas geshem.

    Using lulav for 8 days???

But if it works, we will have him come to Australia – we need lots of rain here.

  5. So with Yehuda davening for rain and l’havdil the galochim praying for rain, where are the libs screaming about seperation of church and state?????

    1. When Hitler wanted to get rid of jews in Germany, he also explained that they were draining their economy and destroying their country…
    2. If more jews had entered the states illegally (but it wasn’t possible form Europe), more would have been saved.
    3. Maybe you should leave Lakewood and go work for the Minister of immigration. Plus, imagine, your income would go up and you’d pay more taxes to support this beautiful country.

  7. ps to LkwdFellow: I am sorry if I sound a little tough but I just got really upset by your comments. My sincere apologies.

  8. gingy & torahyid:
I’m sure it’s nice to read a warm & fuzzy feel good story but why is this a kiddish hashem? We all daven, hopefully with kavuneh, that hk”bh be mefarnes us through rain. We all do so in private or b’tzibr amongst ourselves.
While I am not disagreeing with Rabbi Levin who is a really nice man and definitly well meaning, what about this is a kiddish hashem?

  9. Yatzmich – כמתלהלה היורה חיצים ואומר הלא מצחק אני
Many people have been killed by “light banter”.
I suppose that according to you, when CHaZaL spoke about מתכבד בקלון חברו, מלבין פני חברו, אונאת דברים, לשון הרע, ליצנות, וכו they weren’t thinking of “light banter”.

  10. charliehall, The laws of this country provide santuary for those fleeing for their lives or from persecution. There is no excuse for anyone to be in the United States illegally. Anyone who is ought to be immediately deported.
