The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that a seven-mile paving project, including drainage upgrades and safety improvements, will necessitate the temporary closure of the Rest Area on I-87 northbound at milepost 99 beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 21, 2010.

The Rest Area, located between Interchange 19 (Kingston, Rhinecliff Bridge Route 28) and Interchange 20 (Saugerties, Route 32), will remain closed until early October 2010.

Northbound motorists are advised that the next available location to take a break while traveling is the Malden Travel Plaza, located approximately four miles north at milepost 103.
