DST Ends: Remember to “Fall Back”

clock.jpgDaylight-saving time ends at 2:00AM Sunday, so remember to turn clocks back an hour before you go to bed or after you wake up.

Until this year, daylight-saving time ended at 2 a.m. on the final Sunday of October, but it shifted to the first Sunday of November this year. Daylight-saving time also began earlier last spring, when Americans set their clocks forward an hour nearly a month earlier than in 2006.

The changes were made by legislation aiming to save energy, extending daylight hours so that consumers don’t turn lights on as early.

European countries changed their clocks last weekend.

  1. Also, this is a good time to REPLACE or at least CHECK the batteries in your smoke detectors – the daylight/standard time switch is a handy way to remember to check these important devices.
