Lakewood Fire Department is at the scene of a structure fire at 1104 East County-Line Road. There is heavy fire being reported – with flames shooting through the roof. A source has confirmed to Yeshivaworld that the home belongs to Lakewood’s Fire Chief.
Lakewood Hatzolah is staging on the scene.

Not that it makes any difference, but its Lakewoods Ex-Fire Chief (2 Years ago). In addition, he is also a member of Lakewood PD (Sgt. John Stillwell).
That is the house of Sgt. John Stilwell one of the fire cheifs of Lakewood and also a Sgt. in the PD.
It was the home of a past fire chief.

What does “…staging on the scene” mean?
Staging on the scene means that they are assigned to the incident but not actively working it. They are sort of like in standby mode.

I don’t understand why hatzolah was dispatched to this fire do they go to every fire or where they just happen to be passing by and stopped to offer help.
