Woodridge: Fire Dept Rescues Five People From Neversink River During Storm [PHOTOS]

Five people needed to be rescued from the Neversink River in the Woodridge area during a nasty Thunderstorm, Sunday night.

The five people had been on rafts in the water, in the area of Avon Lodge Road near River Road. The rafts were tied to trees, and the group were just floating and enjoying the sun and cool water. Suddenly, thunderstorms hit the area, and the group became stranded. They managed to make their way to the opposite side of the river, and had no way of getting back.

The Woodridge and Rock Hill Fire Fire Department’s responded and successfully rescued the group, and brought them back to safety on the other side of the rider.

Catskills Hatzolah as well as the Woodridge Police Department were on the scene a well.

  1. Good G-d will someone teach Frum shtender Jews how to boat, hike & drive on rural roads safely? Average teens learn these skills from dads, school outings, Boy Scouts, military.

  2. Good G-d will someone ask the ravs daughter how an accident can happen to a boy scout or a military man who learnt from his dad as well?? (At the very least they should be like your average teens!!)
