YWN regrets to inform you of the Petira of Hagaon HaRav Shlomo Gissinger ZATZAL, the Rov at Khal Zichron Yaakov, one of Lakewood largest Shuls and kehillas. He was 75.
Rav Gissinger suffered from an illness the past few months. He was rushed by Hatzolah to a Manhattan hospital overnight and was admitted with a serious infection. On Thursday afternoon, his condition turned critical and was Niftar at around 6:00PM.
Rav Gissinger was involved in dozens of Lakewood organizations, Mosdos and Chesed projects, and was one of Lakewood’s original Rabbonim and Poskim.
The Levaya will take place on Friday morning at 10:30AM at his shul located at 175 Sunset Road in Lakewood.

אבד חסיד מן הארץ…מי יתן לנו תמורתו what a tzadik what a loss … he was an amazing person an incredible rav and brilliant in all areas of Torah and halacha.. he helped thousands of yidden from all walks of life. Involved in the most complex medical issues, sholom bayis, infertility, etc. A light in klal Yisroel has gone dim.

What a very special Tzaddik and Yid Reb Shlomo ZATZAL was. I know personally people that he helped tremendously in not normal ways. He was a tremendous Talmid Chacham and Huge Posek. Well humored. He made all that met him feel special. He took on the personal tzaras of the kla as they were his own. He made them into his own.
Reb Shlomo you will be sorely missed by your kehilla and many, many others in kla yisroel. You should be a Meilitz Yosher for your Rebetzin, your children and grand children and all of kla yisroel.
