The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 40009” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in New York.

The problem was discovered when the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets alerted FSIS about meat and poultry products produced by Continental Glatt Kosher Meats Corp., without the benefit of federal inspection and bearing the mark of inspection from another establishment without authorization.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

  1. through April 18, 2021 the day after יום-העצמאות בזמנו.
May the זכות of observing יום-העצמאות be מגין them:- both Health-wise & financially.

  2. “There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.”

There also seems to be no reason to suppose any of these products are contaminated in any way. The only thing “wrong” with them is the absence of a federal mashgiach at the plant on certain dates. Halacha may work that way but science doesn’t. Bacteria don’t care whether there’s a mashgiach or not. A mashgiach may notice if something is done wrong, but if everything is done the same when he doesn’t show up as when he does then everything is just as safe without him as it is with him. Accordingly if I had these products I would not worry about eating them.

  3. june? most of this has been eaten long ago & the olam already bentched , did anyone hear of any food poisonings? what probaly happened is the usda couldnt get enough inspectors to cover the shifts & kj ‘s clients needed products so they continued … YWN fix the headline .. its a non story

  4. Granted a lot of this has already been purchased and probably consumed, it does seem that the only problem was that they didn’t have Uncle Sam standing over them when it was produced. The alert itself clearly mentions that probably nothing was wrong with the product healthwise. I checked with a friend in the food industry and was told if I had any in my house I shouldn’t worry about it. Therefore, I am not worrying about it.

  5. Funny, the daf discusses what can make meat tameh …

If the product was produced against government regulations, that could be a problem by itself.
It might be an innocent mishap either by producer or USDA, but could be an intentional act.
For example, COVID regulations might not have been observed when workers were sick.

I am not alleging anything, just saying if you have the product you should ask for an explanation at the risk of consuming COVID or genevah-infested meat.

Careful handling may bittul the former, but not the latter.
