Political analyst Mark Halperin says that recent private polling data indicates former President Donald Trumps prospects in the 2024 election are looking strong, with both Democrats and Republicans increasingly bullish on his chances. Speaking on a livestream for his media platform, 2WAY, Halperin revealed that insiders from both sides of the political spectrum have told him Vice President Kamala Harris’ electoral chances appear to be slipping.

In the conversations Im having with Trump people and Democrats with data, they are extremely bullish on Trumps chances in the last 48 hours. Extremely bullish, Halperin said during the livestream.

Halperin described Harris campaign as an experiment facing mounting challenges, noting that private polling shows a concerning trend for her. Can you win a short campaign with an untested candidate? What Im telling you is happening in private polling is shes got a problem now, he said.

He referenced a recent New York Times poll that showed Harris with a narrow three-point lead over Trump nationally, but he emphasized that the margin is within the polls margin of error. Halperin noted that Harris’ team would prefer a more comfortable lead of at least four points to feel confident about her chances.

Halperin also highlighted internal polling from Senator Tammy Baldwins re-election campaign in Wisconsin, which reportedly shows Harris trailing Trump by three points in the key battleground state. Theres no path without Wisconsin, Halperin stressed, underscoring the importance of swing states like Wisconsin and Michigan, which he said are currently looking worse for Harris than before.

Fellow pundit Dan Turrentine, a Democratic political strategist, echoed Halperins concerns, saying that publishing these numbers signals an alarm bell for the rest of the Democratic Party. Halperin agreed, explaining, And so you do it to sound the alarm bell, you are sounding the alarm bell in the party.

Halperin also addressed Harris supporters critical of his analysis, stating, For you Harris people on here complaining that were talking about problems in the Harris campaign, youre welcome to put your head in the sand about it. If you want to go watch MSNBC primetime and hear how great things are going for the Harris campaign, youre welcome. But if you want to understand whats actually happening, were here to tell you.

Halperin concluded that Harris is in danger of losing every swing state except Nevada, warning that her campaign is in a precarious position as the election approaches.
