The news spread in Yerushalayim today, 4 Sivan, regarding the petira of HaGaon HaRav Avraham Elyashiv z”l, 52, the oldest grandson of Maran Rav Elyashiv Shlita. The niftar is the firstborn of Rav Elyashiv’s firstborn son. He was ill in recent years with a difficult illness R”L, and was hospitalized on a number of occasions. He is the oldest son of Hagon Rav Shlomo Elyashiv Shlita, the oldest son of Maran Shlita.
He was hospitalized before Pesach, released for yomtov and hospitalized in Jerusalem’s Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital after yomtov after his condition deteriorated. He was niftar on Wednesday afternoon.
The levaya is taking place in the Ahavas Torah Shul. The niftar leaves behind four daughters and a son, Rav Shmulik, who is active in Degel HaTorah.
