One World Trade Reaches Halfway Point

Construction of One World Trade Center, formerly known as the Freedom Tower, has reached the halfway mark.

Steel beams for the office tower reached the 52nd floor on Thursday.

Once complete, the 104-story building will have a final height of 1,776 feet, making it the tallest in the city.

The tower is expected to be the centerpiece of the World Trade Center Site, along with a memorial, transit hub, and performing arts center.

  1. My plan for the WTC was not approved but I still think it is/was a great idea. It should be built one storey higher than it was before to defy the knuckle-dragging savages. The next floor should be devoted to the largest mosque in New York (perhaps the largest in the United States). The floor above that should be devoted completed to the slaughter of pigs for American consumption. In the event that the knuckle-draggers return to knock the building down again, all that pig stuff would automatically crash into the mosque. I think that would be a sacrilegious act for our Muslim cousins. Isn’t my idea worth a try?

    …don’t forget the mosque!!

  3. Realistically, the article is not correct. The “construction” has not reached “the halfway mark.” The only thing that is halfway is the height of the steel beams. The construction as a whole has way more to go!
