False Text Messages Regarding Mirrer Rosh Yeshiva

pic.jpg(Click on image to see photo taken today!) There is a false text message being forwarded across the globe regarding the health Of Hagoen Rav Shmuel Berenbaum. The text message reads “Refuel Shmuel ben Gitel – R’ Shmuel birnbaum is in critical condition, please forward to 10 people”. YW would like to inform the concerned Tzibur that this text message is FALSE. Rav Shmuel Berenbaum said his daily Shiur today, attended Tefillos in the Bais Medrash today, and is currently in the Mirrer Yeshiva at “Second Seder”. Although the Rosh Yeshiva has asked people to be Mispallel for his health, he has not changed an iota of his busy schedule. Please inform people that the rumors are Boruch Hashem not true. –YW Editor.

  1. If he’s not sick then we B’H don’t have to daven for him we only daven for people that need a refuah shelamah & unfortunately there are many that need it.

  2. לקיים בנו חכמי ישראל! Of course we should be mispallel that the Rosh Yeshiva should be Healthy and Should have the zechiya to be marbits Torah for many years to come! עוד ינוב בשיבה דשנים ורעננים עד ביאת הגואל אמן

  3. i just want to point out that it is said over in the name of the chazon ish that it is forbidden to say that a choleh is better until they are fully cured as those who hear this will assume that the person no longer needs our tefilos and the rachamaei shomayim may be removed if the tziubur stops davening, so for the irresponsible parties that had this message misconstrued it behhoves them to think twice before they have messages sent out as the above scenario can ensure as a direct result of this mistake and nobody on this planet can afford to lose a living sefer torah such as the rosh hayeshiva is. we have absolutely no inkling on how his presence protects us all.

  4. the rav in my town is very picky about those that come to shul with long lists of cholim for mi sheberach’s. (some rule of only if you would have made a special trip to shul, or something like that — i never did get the exact rule he said)

of course, right after he makes that “speech”, the gabbai right away makes another mi sheberach (which of course, we would never make two in a day)

  5. this is one of the problems of technology – while its great to be able to spread the word for tehillim – many many times by the time one receives the text/email etc. the person has been well or has died r”l 3 years b4!!!!(ok a little exxageration on the 3 years 😉

  6. no body knows the condition of the Rosh yeshiva I am from out of town and I have been close to the rosh yeshiva for over 35 years I was recently in NY what I can gather is that the condition of the rosh yeshiva is known to only afew. however knowing the r.y. his complete devotion to the yeshiva and his hasmadoh, his being able to say shiur and remain in yeshiva is a nes lmaloh mi derech hateveh.Let us all be mispalel that hashem preforms anes lmalo miderech hateveh and grants him arichos yomim ad bias hamoshiach. That said we should therefore not slack off in our tfilos as my impression upon seeing him and speaking to the r.y. is he needs our tfilos . Whats most important is we increase in our learning especialy over the summer when we can be nisrashel this would be the biggest chizuk to the rosh yeshiva and to let it be known to him that people are being mechazek in learning lmaan his refuah.
