Tens of thousands of talmidei yeshiva and avreichim are returning to yeshiva and beis medrash today as the Elul zman gets underway.
According to a HaMevaser report, this year’s opening is accompanied by the reality there are dozens of new yeshivos and kollelim around Eretz Yisroel. In addition, many schools have added new classrooms Baruch Hashem, primarily to accommodate the natural growth of the chareidi community at large Baruch Hashem.
HaMevaser adds that this year, there was an increase among Chassidish mosdos primarily, which did not break for bein hazmanim, but opted to continue with the seder limudim. The same holds true regarding talmidei Torah in the ‘old yishuv’ areas of Yerushalayim, where studies continued, albeit a modified curriculum specially designed for the bein hazmanim period.
