The National Labor Court on Wednesday morning issued a back-to-work order for hundreds of residents who walked off the job, all employees of government-run hospitals.

The state filed with the court, seeking intervention, explaining that since hundreds of doctors have walked off the job, this represents a collective act, not an individual one, hence a violation of the collective bargaining agreement accepted by the Israel Medical Association.

The court accepted the state’s reasoning, ordering the doctors back to work immediately.
