Bulgaria’s Health Minister Defends EMS Response

Amid some criticism regarding the EMS response to the reported terror attack against Israelis in the Burgas Bulgaria airport, that country’s minister of health, Desislava Atanasova rejected the validity of the accusations, reporting nine ambulances were operating on the scene of the attack within 11 minutes of receiving the calls.

Minister Atanasova stated she rejects the attempt to blemish the reputation of responders, insisting the information speaking of a delayed response is simply not correct.

  1. Sorry to burst the lady’s bubble, but eleven minutes is a long response time. The airport probably has its own fire units and should also have its own first responder medical units which can get to the scene quickly and start treating patients before the regular EMS units arrive.
