Maran Rav Shteinman Joins Police for a Siyum Mesechta

miDozens of Israel Police personnel from the Tel Aviv district came to the home of HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita to take part in a siyum mesechta. They are participants in a daily daf yomi shiur over the past decade.

This story presents a different side of Israel Police, one showing officers assigned to the Tel Aviv District arriving at the rav’s home on Tuesday afternoon 20 Shevat 5774 to take part in a siyum. These policemen take part in a daily daf yomi shiur during the past decade in the framework of the Meoros HaDaf Yomi, arranged by Rav Chaim Dovid Kovlesky.

Arriving with them lomdim were the Israel Police chief rabbi, MK Rav Moshe Gafne, and Israel Police Tel Aviv District Rav Rabbi Eliyahu Kabu.

The excitement was evident on the faces of the participants as the gadol hador joined them. One could see the marveled expressions on their faces when they saw the humble surroundings that are the rav’s home.

After finishing the mesechta Maran the Rosh Yeshiva Shlita gave them a bracha, telling them “anyone that cannot sit and learn full time and goes to work to earn parnasa must learn Torah in his spare time.”

“One must know that there is a tremendous value to devote one’s precious limited time to limud Torah” Rav Shteinman added.

Each participant was then permitted to approach the rav, shake his hand, and receive a bracha.
