Statement From The Flatbush Jewish Community Coalition About Flatbush Robbery

rThere was a serious criminal incident perpetrated on a member of our Flatbush community early this morning.

A man was walking home from the train on Ave.M and E.8 about 1 AM when he was attacked, beaten and robbed by two men.

FJCC leaders have been in contact with the NYPD Brooklyn South Command, the 66th Precinct, and our partners at Flatbush Shomrim., and praise Assistant Chief Steven M. Powers, Captain Kenneth Quick and Flatbush Shomrim Executive Coordinator Bob Moskowitz for their leadership.

We are confident that they are working diligently to apprehend the perpetrators, and thank them for their selfless dedication to our communities’ safety.

The FJCC thanks Senator Simcha Felder, Assemblyman Dov Hikind, Councilman David Greenfield and Councilman Chaim Deutsch for offering rewards for information leading to an arrest, and working with the NYPD and community leaders to insure our neighborhoods security.

We urge community members to be vigilant and make sure that security cameras are in working order. Surveillance cameras have proven to be invaluable in solving many crimes in the past. As always, be aware of your surroundings and do not hesitate to call 911 if anything seems suspicious.
