Deri is Not So Quick to Criticize Security Chiefs

deriShas leader Minister Aryeh Deri on Tuesday, 5 Adar-II spoke with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio), asked to comment on the fact Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon is abroad while terror attacks continue in Israel.

Deri was also asked to comment on reported secretive talks between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority) in which the latter rejected Israel’s latest offer.

“We don’t have another IDF Chief of Shin Bet director and I am not filling in for them. They are in the field 24 hours and does anyone thinks Gadi Eizenkott or [Coordinator of Activities in the Territories Major-General Yoav] Puli Mordechai have other considerations other than Israel’s security interests in mind?

“Maybe they are wrong. I do not have to accept everything they say but not to give them a change to discuss the Palestinians and bring us the best results and simply tell us ‘decide’? even during the taking stage I should keep them from talking?”

Deri feels the responsibility these individuals carry is enormous and at time some may be too quick or too willing to publically criticize them.
