Thousands To Participate In The Maccabiah Jerusalem Night Run On Monday


1Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and the Chairman of the Maccabiah, Amir Peled, will announce the launch of the year of the Maccabiah and will jumpstart the first ever Jerusalem Maccabiah Night Run.

The Jerusalem Maccabiah Night Run is co-organized by the Jerusalem Municipality and the Maccabiah. The Night Run will be the inaugural event of the year of the 20th Maccabiah Games which will be hosted by Jerusalem as the city marks the 50th anniversary of its reunification.

Runners can choose between two routes: a 10 km race which will begin at 19:30, and a half marathon which will begin at 19:50. Both races will launch from Yitzchak Kariv Street, opposite the Old City walls. 5,000 local and international runners are expected to participate.

The race will pass through the spectacular scenery of the city of Jerusalem: King David Street, David Remez Street, Derech Hebron through Baram Junction, Yanovsky Promenade, Emek Refaim, Keren HaYesod, Hillel Street, Jaffa Gate, and Zion Gate.

The run’s starting point and the media zone are located near the entrance to the Mamilla parking lot (Yitzchak Kariv Street)
