Cuomo: NY Would Lose Big If Affordable Care Act Repealed

cuomGov. Andrew Cuomo says more than 2.7 million New Yorkers could lose insurance coverage if the Affordable Care Act is repealed.

The Democrat released that figure on Wednesday. His office says counties around the state would lose $600 million in federal funding and the state budget would take a $3.7 billion hit if Republicans in Congress and President-elect Donald Trump dismantle the law.

Cuomo says the cost of repealing the law is “simply too high to justify.”

He says that under President Barack Obama’s landmark law the state’s health exchange has cut the percentage of uninsured New Yorkers from 10 percent to 5 percent.

  1. Who on earth is paying for all this wonderful Insurance?? We the taxpayer and we want to see it go!! So Mr Cuomo, Obamacare is on the way to its grave Good Riddance!!

  2. If by new yorker he means people of nyc, then 10 percent is about 800,000. Cutting it to 5 percent means that 400,000 previously uninsured now have insurance. Even if I as a taxpayer wants to pay for some one uninsured to have insurance, why would I pay for the other 2,300,000 to have insurance?

  3. @Nosyparker – No! you can’t do that, Mr. Taxpayer. The uninsured, NEED you. Since you are too dumb to realize that, we will FORCEFULLY take money from you to pay for their insurance. See there, now everyone is insured. What wonderful logic the liberal commies have. /satire
