Weekend Violence In The Bedouin Community Of Um Chiran

1There was violence in the Bedouin community of Um Chiran in southern Israel following last week’s fatal vehicular ramming attack that claimed the life of policeman Erez Levi HY”D.

Leading the group was Arab MK Odeh Ayman, who was among the injured in last week’s violence as he led the resistance to block the demolition of illegal structures in the Bedouin community. He accuses Public Security Minster Gilad Erdan of incitement, seeking to turn the tables around as it was Erdan who was among the first to publicly condemn Ayman for his inciteful actions in Um Chiran against the demolitions.

Meretz party leader MK Zahav Gal-On is calling for an inquiry into events in Um Chiran despite the fact security experts have determined the ramming attack was an act of terror, and not a driver who lost control of his vehicle as Bedouin officials are claiming.

MK Ahmed Tibi is also calling for a probe and “drawing the necessary conclusions”, seeking to blame police for firing at Um Chiran residents after they, police, were targeted with live gunfire.
