Bias Incident Being Investigated In Williamsburg

2:55PM EST: For the second time in two weeks, the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Unit has been sent to investigate a bias crime in the heart of Williamsburg’s Chasidic community.

Numerous swastikas were found by a resident Thursday afternoon scrawled onto the walls of an elevator in a residential apartment building located on Penn Street just off of Marcy Avenue.

Williamsburg Shomrim were dispatched to the scene, who in turn contacted the NYPD’s 90th Precinct, and Hate Crimes Unit.

On November 9th YWN reported that a swastika was drawn on the wall in an apartment building located on Harrison Avenue & Heyward Street. There were no arrests in that incident.

Shomrim are reaching out the community, and asking if anyone saw anything suspicious, they should please call the 24hr Williamsburg Shomrim Hotline at 718-237-0202.

  1. Why don’t they install cameras/scanners that will photograph faces through their hooded or whatever coverings. they’ll catch them in no time.
